It may be noted that this blog is now incorporated (after a fashion) into arachispress.com, via a linked tab in the site navigation. If we'd known it was that simple, we would have done it quite some time ago, but we'd been exploring ways to embed a blog instead. This should word just fine and announcements can easily be found by visiting the Arachis Press site. Or just come here.

Site Update and Free Books
We (at last?) have a completely up to date and finished website (arachispress.com). The latest books are up, every print book we offer is directly linked to our own store (though they may be purchased elsewhere), and all the ebooks are now free to download. Yes, there is a page with them all listed, in PDF and EPUB format.
We had given the free thing thought for quite a long time and finally decided we would prefer to have the books read than to hope to make a few dollars now and again. Especially in that we do not deal with Amazon and no longer create Kindle editions. This includes every book by Stephen Brooke, Sienna Santerre, and Oliver Davis Pike.

Shiny New Site
We finally got around to a complete redesign of our website, to be found at (of course) http://arachispress.com. Still need to dig into revising the Eggshell Boats site (our poetry imprint) but that is lower priority than some other projects.
And we will upgrade the AP site as we can; it is admittedly still a tad bare-bones but completely functional. All the books are there! It looks better, we think, or at least more 'modern'—not that there was anything wrong with it before. :)
addendum, several hours later: We had some problems with things synching/linking quite right so repairs were necessary—and, of course, in the midst of FTPing the changes, our internet went out for most of the day. But it all looks good now, and we even updated the parent site (Insolent Lad) a bit.

New-ish Site
Our new-and-improved website is up. At http://arachispress.com of course, as before. This should work for a while! More to come, as it comes, and someday maybe 'responsive.' For now, a separate site for mobile, which works well enough. All the current offerings are listed now, including ARROWS OF HEAVEN, which will see 'official' release this Friday, Sept 1 (but is generally available right now).

K Page Brooke Site
We are teaching ourselves responsive design — very slowly — and put up a simple one-page, mini-site for one of the books, as we figure it all out! It is set up as a subdomain of our parent site, at kpagebrooke.insolentlad.com. Not linked up yet but we'll get around to it.
Bit by bit, we should get more of our online presence into subdomains, including Arachis Press, as we feel our way. It may not be responsive at first; the mobile redirects we use now work well enough and we have more experience with the process, but eventually we should be mostly responsive. By that time, maybe we'll need to learn some other approach altogether!
In other news, the print version of GOD OF RAIN (the new Mora fantasy novel by Stephen Brooke) has been approved and will be available pretty much everywhere by the target release date of March 13. We have copies coming from the printer for the occasion and should be getting the ebook versions up shortly.

Site Is Up
We --- at last --- have a more-or-less complete site up, in both desktop and mobile version at http://arachispress.com . Tweaking and updates and so on will be ongoing, but all the books are there. As always, of course, one may skip our site and go straight to the store at our distributor: http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/arachispress

Updating the Site
We have been working on the AP site. Yes, finally! The desktop version is pretty much ready but we need to finish the mobile version before uploading it all. Visitors will actually be able to see all the books. :)
An about/submissions page (or pages) may not appear right away. We are not taking any work right now but do intend, at last, to open up to publishing perhaps a couple titles a year. Most likely, that would be poetry, as we originally were conceived as a small poetry press. We shall see.
The release of FIELDS OF SUMMER, the latest poetry collection from Stephen Brooke is coming on September 1. That's the official release date --- one can find it already at various retailers, including our own store.
Anything more coming the year? We may or may not have a new novel ready for release before Christmas. That is still up in the air.

Books On Line
We would like to announce that we finally have our book list on line at our site (at http://www.insolentlad.com/apbooks.html ) with images, brief blurbs and 'buy' buttons. All eight current titles are up --- more to come, of course!
More information on Arachis Press, including submission standards and the like, should appear soon-ish, both at the site and here. Plans for our new magazine, too.

K. Page Brooke News
We are finalizing 'The Art of K. Page Brooke' and do expect it to be available by the end of January. With this sort of project, we are definitely taking our time. In the mean time, we have put a page at our site with some of the art that will be in the book. In higher resolution, of course! That may be found at: www.insolentlad.com/kpagebrooke.html
This book is essentially a labor of love for us and also an opportunity to expand our catalog. It will class us up a bit! ;)

Site Down
It would seem that the Arachis Press site is down...or is it? Our domain is registered with GoDaddy, which has apparently succumbed to some sort of attack, but the actual site is hosted at Yahoo, as part of the Insolent Lad site, and is still accessible at http://insolentlad.com. Just follow the link on the IL main page.
We hope this is fixed quickly!
