Lands Far Away Release

Saturday, August 7 2021, is the official release day for Stephen Brooke's collection of (mostly) fantasy short stories titled Lands Far Away. Here's the back cover blurb:

Away! Beyond the hills, beyond the seas, lie kingdoms unknown. This book of stories is for all who would seek them at the edges of the world, for all who would journey to Lands Far Away ~ tales of fantasy by Stephen Brooke.

Lands Far Away is available right now. It's a fairly short book, around 30,000 words, with seventeen stories and two poem/songs included. And, as with Brooke's poetry collections, the ebook version is a free download. Print may be purchased at the Arachis Press store or at Amazon or, in theory anyway, 'everywhere.' The download, in both EPUB and PDF formats, is here (along with several other free books).

Some of the stories included in the book have appeared in magazines and many—but not all—are on the humorous side. 

 

 

The Walls Between the Worlds

We are pleased to announce that the latest fantasy novel by Stephen Brooke, THE WALLS BETWEEN THE WORLDS, is scheduled for publication on October 2, 2021. Here's the rear cover blurb and the cover (probably in final form):

City of Wizardry Release Set

‘City of Wizardry,’ the new fantasy novel by Stephen Brooke, is now set for an official release on October 10. That date is still slightly tentative but we expect it to hold. This is the sequel to his popular ‘The Ways of Wizardry.’

The greatness of Tesra, City of Wizardry, is only legend now. At its height, it was the largest and richest metropolis the world had ever known, the center of a great empire. Warrior of the Moon Release

All is ready for the February 15 official release of Stephen Brooke's latest fantasy adventure novel, 'Warrior of the Moon.' This will be his seventh book set among the Mora and the first of a new trilogy. The book should show up in both print and ebook editions at retailers shortly, including Amazon, but is available right now from our own shop.

Jewels Release

This Saturday, February 2, is the official release date for THE JEWELS OF THE ELEMENTS. One may already find the book in most online stores, Amazon included, or at our own Arachis Press store in both print and ebook formats.

JEWELS is the sequel to THE EYES OF THE WIND, but one need not read that novel to enjoy or understand this one. EYES is one of our most popular titles and also one of the shortest (at 50,000 words), though I doubt those two facts are related! JEWELS comes in a little longer, at 64,000 words, which is fairly typical of a Stephen Brooke adventure tale.

THE JEWELS OF THE THE ELEMENTS is a fantasy novel and related to some degree to the author’s other fantasy novels. That is, they are all set in the same world. However, Stephen also has turned out several mainstream (or at least non-fantasy) novels. His next is the espionage adventure THE DICTATOR’S CHILDREN, set in 1948 Cuba, Florida, and Central America. Stay tuned!

Ways Is Out

Today, Saturday January 6, is the official release date for the latest fantasy adventure from Stephen Brooke, THE WAYS OF WIZARDRY. Available everywhere, including our own site, in print and ebook. Alas, not at our own office, for the blizzard prevented copies from arriving in time (we'll have some on hand next week).

The cold weather is also keeping me from going into the office and retrieving the cover picture for our next release, another fantasy novel titled WOMAN OF THE SKY. But I shall announce that it is set for March 10. 'Woman' is the third and final book in Stephen Brooke's Mora Trilogy. More announcements for this new year to come!

God of Rain Release

Today marks the official release of Stephen Brooke's latest fantasy novel, GOD OF RAIN. Available everywhere (or close to it) in print and ebook formats

Stephen prefers to call this book 'adventure with a fantasy element' rather than simply fantasy. GOD and its predecessors set in the Mora world recall the work of such masters of adventure as Edgar Rice Burroughs, with plenty of action and exotic settings but not delving deeply into magic or the supernatural.

More titles coming this summer and fall. Dates to be announced when we have them set!

Eyes Release

The date of July 15, 2016 has been set for the official release of Stephen Brooke's new novel, THE EYES OF THE WIND.

The 'long' blurb:

Young Saj only wanted to deliver his wagon-load of goods and be on his way to a new life in the South. How did he end up kidnapping a willful young noblewoman?

Or was it she who kidnapped him? He wasn’t quite sure.

Coming in 2016

Here's a look ahead to the release of the next novel:

Remember that the new poetry collection from Stephen Brooke, THE TOWER, will be officially released in about a week. However, all the variants – print, pdf, and epub – are already up at our own store. It takes a while for them to show up at other vendors, online or otherwise. The idea is to have that occur at somewhere around the same time as the official release!

In the meantime, we are working on getting our remaining titles, the four books that make up the Donzalo's Destiny series, revised and into full distribution. The first of these, THE SONG OF THE SWORD, is ready to go and should be available everywhere before the end of the year. The other three will follow during 2016.
