New-ish Site
Our new-and-improved website is up. At http://arachispress.com of course, as before. This should work for a while! More to come, as it comes, and someday maybe 'responsive.' For now, a separate site for mobile, which works well enough. All the current offerings are listed now, including ARROWS OF HEAVEN, which will see 'official' release this Friday, Sept 1 (but is generally available right now).

Voyages Announced
Coming NOVEMBER FIRST, the new poetry collection from Stephen Brooke, and the first book to carry our new imprint, Eggshell Boats. Poems of journey, many with a nautical theme. More info to come!

Eggshell Boats Site
We finally have a 'true' website for our imprint, Eggshell Boats. We set up EB for publishing poetry, literary fiction, that sort of thing — essentially to keep all that separated a bit from the fantasy and adventure and children's books we also publish. It is at eggshellboats.com or at eggshellboats.insolentlad.com. Yes, it is a subdomain at Insolent Lad Media now, rather than just a page.
Somewhat bare-bones for the moment but we will update as we feel moved to do so. Before the first EB offering, the poetry collection VOYAGES appears, for sure. That is set for November 1, 2017. Most of our current poetry titles will be moved to Eggshell Boats, by the way.

Arrows of Heaven Book Release
We announce the official release of Stephen Brooke's new fantasy-adventure novel, "Arrows of Heaven" for Sept 1, 2017. Available in print and ebook.
The end of every epic is the
beginning of another.
Who was Teme? A noble girl, sister to
the High King of all the Mora, and of an age to marry appropriately?
Yes, she was this, but also a renowned archer, acclaimed by her
people as a hero of the recent civil war, named in the epics bards
sang across the land.
Warrior or woman? Was it possible to be
both? Through intrigues and adventures in the realm of the Mora and
beyond, Teme has one quest above all others — to learn who she
truly is.

Coming Attractions 2017
Three books by Stephen Brooke in the pipeline for the second half of 2017:
The fantasy adventure ARROWS OF HEAVEN, second installment of the Mora trilogy is scheduled for a September 1 release. ARROWS picks up three years after the events in GOD OF RAIN and is told by Teme, sister of the High King of the Mora.
VOYAGES is a new collection of poems, many with a nautical theme, all about the voyage that is called life. Expect release around the beginning of November (exact date to be announced). This will be our first book published under the Eggshell Boats imprint.
ASANAS is a mainstream novel set in contemporary Florida, revolving around two women, an art gallery, and a yoga class. We hope to have it available before Christmas; if not, early in 2018.

End to the PDF
Looking over our sales for the past twelve months we find that we have sold exactly zero e-books in PDF format. Therefor, we have deleted all PDFs from our store and will no longer offer them to the public. If you MUST have one, of course the PDFs from which our print editions are prepared are always available.
Offering them was no big deal, requiring only the preparation of a slightly revised version of the print-ready PDF, but it does clear up clutter at our store by removing a third of the listings!

Release the Crocodile!
Announcing the release date for the upcoming fantasy novel by Stephen Brooke, THE CROCODILE'S SON. Out officially on Saturday June 3, 2017.
Here is the official blurb, as it currently goes:
Here is the official blurb, as it currently goes:
Qala, once Queen of the Pirates, had
retired, hoping only for a comfortable and peaceful country life for
herself and her little demigod son. Any of us might wish for such
things!
But others had their own plans. The
boy’s relatives, an unruly family of deities, felt called upon to
meddle in his upbringing — and one might just want him dead. Add to
this the politics and intrigues of mortal men and women, and their
penchant for falling in love, as well as her old crew who think Qala
has hidden treasure somewhere about her estate.
Kidnappings and quests, an adventure
through the worlds of gods and of mortals, await Qala in Book One of
The Crocodile Chronicles, THE CROCODILE’S SON.

God of Rain Release
Today marks the official release of Stephen Brooke's latest fantasy novel, GOD OF RAIN. Available everywhere (or close to it) in print and ebook formats
Stephen prefers to call this book 'adventure with a fantasy element' rather than simply fantasy. GOD and its predecessors set in the Mora world recall the work of such masters of adventure as Edgar Rice Burroughs, with plenty of action and exotic settings but not delving deeply into magic or the supernatural.
More titles coming this summer and fall. Dates to be announced when we have them set!

K Page Brooke Site
We are teaching ourselves responsive design — very slowly — and put up a simple one-page, mini-site for one of the books, as we figure it all out! It is set up as a subdomain of our parent site, at kpagebrooke.insolentlad.com. Not linked up yet but we'll get around to it.
Bit by bit, we should get more of our online presence into subdomains, including Arachis Press, as we feel our way. It may not be responsive at first; the mobile redirects we use now work well enough and we have more experience with the process, but eventually we should be mostly responsive. By that time, maybe we'll need to learn some other approach altogether!
In other news, the print version of GOD OF RAIN (the new Mora fantasy novel by Stephen Brooke) has been approved and will be available pretty much everywhere by the target release date of March 13. We have copies coming from the printer for the occasion and should be getting the ebook versions up shortly.

God of Rain Release Set
We are pleased to announce a release date of Monday, March 13, 2017, for the latest fantasy-adventure novel from Stephen Brooke, GOD OF RAIN. This is the first of a Mora trilogy, taking up where the three Malvern novels left off, and following the narratives of some of the secondary characters in those books.
As always, there will print (paperback) and ebook editions. The blurb:
As always, there will print (paperback) and ebook editions. The blurb:
Hito had tired of war, of knowing he
would never be more than the second to the hero Aranu. It was time he
sought his own destiny, to leave fighting behind and seek more.
Peace, he desired, and a wife and home. If a bit of wealth came his
way, too, that was to the better. But was that what he truly sought?
Should there not be more?
From the Mora homeland to the jungled
valley of the Gurang, from a new life as a trader to that of a Kohari
prisoner, condemned to be sacrificed to the Sun Bird, his quest
carries him. And does he find love, as well? Perhaps.
In Teva, the God of Rain, must he seek
who he is truly meant to be. In the end, it will be Hito himself he
finds, in the first novel of a new Mora Trilogy, GOD OF RAIN.
